Already during his studies (1980-1985) he was editor-in-chief of trade journals, ran an advertising agency and carried out an innovation study on Clean Technologies on behalf of the European Commission in Brussels. In 1984 he founded ALTOP Verlags- und Vertriebsgesellschaft für umweltfreundliche Produkte mbH in Munich, where he is managing director. ALTOP - and thus its founder and Spiritus Rector - has been awarded several prizes: e.g. the Environmental Prize of the City of Munich or the ASU Award. In 1986, the first edition of the ALTERNATIVEN BRANCHENBUCHES, a comprehensive market overview of ecologically sensible products and services, was published. During his studies, he worked at the Northwest German Forest Research Institute and the Institute of Forest Botany of the Faculty of Forest Sciences in Göttingen and at the Environmental Law Research Unit of Prof. Dr. H.-J. Koch in Hamburg, among others. He completed his legal clerkship in Lower Saxony (Celle Higher Regional Court) from 2002 to 2004.
Jens Vollprecht has worked as a lawyer at BBH Berlin since 2005 and has been a partner since 2013. He manages projects in the field of renewable energies and advises federal and state ministries on the further development of the legal framework. Currently, he is particularly involved in the topics of sustainability, agri- and peatland photovoltaics, hydrogen and electricity storage. Voluntary climate compensation through forest protection and afforestation is currently another field of his work.
He is a member of the legal working group of the German Association of Energy Storage Systems (BVES), the renewable energy working group of the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU) and the agri-photovoltaics working group of the Renewable Energy Research Network. Jens Vollprecht regularly lectures and publishes on renewable energy law and is co-editor and co-author of the commentary on the EEG published by C.H. Beck (5th edition in preparation)."

From 1980 to 1985, Bernhard Schwager studied chemical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg, Germany.
Career path
Between 1985 and 2005, he acted as an internal consultant within Siemens AG, both on plant and corporate level, in the fields of environmental protection and technical safety. He joined Robert Bosch GmbH in 2005 and was appointed as head of the sustainability office within the corporate communications department. In July 2020 he changed and joined the board of directors of OmniCert Consulting GmbH and acts as contact person for diverse stakeholder groups and promotes sustainability issues like climate action and management systems. As part of his work, he represents the company in various national organizations and associations. In May 2006, he was appointed president of the German Association of Environmental Professionals (VBU), and in May 2008 chair of the German Environmental Management Systems and Audits committee, part of the German Standards Institute (DIN). Additionally, he acts as a board member of the German Chapter of the European Business Ethics Network (DNWE) and the German Environmental Management Association (B.A.U.M. e.V.). In January 2009, he was awarded a master’s degree in environmental science, and he is the author or co-author of numerous books and articles.
