From Cologne to Athens for €17

It doesn’t cost much to offset the emissions from your holiday flight. Most people are still unaware of this fact. For this reason, myclimate Germany is partnering with the Cologne-Bonn airport to advertise voluntary offsetting.

Since 9 December, offers such as Cologne-Athens for €17 and Cologne-Stockholm for €11 have been catching the attention of passengers. There is no expensive and aggressive campaign by a budget airline behind this offer. The Cologne-Bonn airport and myclimate just want to encourage passengers to offset their emissions.

"Making your holiday flight climate neutral is easier than it sounds. And above all, it’s not expensive," explains myclimate Germany gGmbH’s CEO Stefan Baumeister on the occasion of the campaign's launch. "We are aware of our social responsibility and are actively involved in our own operational procedures. We are excited about getting our customers on board with this poster campaign," said Michael Garvens, CEO of Cologne-Bonn airport, expressing the motivation of Germany’s 6th biggest airport.

Holiday scenes are depicted on twelve billboards with the look and feel of big tour operators. With the addition of "thank you for flying climate neutral", the message gets across. By entering the URL written on the poster, or by using the prominently displayed QR code, visitors connect directly with the myclimate flight calculator, where they can check on and offset their flight's emissions in myclimate climate protection projects.

The campaign was conceived and realised by the agency KSP from Zurich.
