myclimate gives away 3 x 2 tickets to 'Filme für die Erde'

myclimate and films, Part II: Can films change the world? Who knows? In any case, films can make us think and can be the crucial factor in changing our own behaviour. That is precisely what the "Filme für die Erde" [Films for the Earth] do. Naturally, we support the event.

On September 20, 11 Swiss cities will be the scene of the "<link www.filmefuerdieerde.ch - external-link-new-window>Filme für die Erde</link>" [Films for the Earth] festival. It represents the annual high point of the initiative by the same name. It goes without saying that myclimate, which shares the initiative's mission of protecting the Earth, is once again supporting the Filme für die Erde Festival this year. Any CO₂ emissions it generates will be offset so that the festival can be held as climate-neutrally as possible.

Again in 2013, Filme für die Erde will address children and young people in particular with a school cinema. The initiators will also offer a "Lunchkino", an attractive incentive for employees of companies that have a philosophy of sustainability. The "Lunchkino" ties the moving film "<link www.youtube.com/watch - external-link-new-window>Taste The Waste</link>" in with filmgoers' lunch hour. Filme für die Erde is an educational initiative recognised by UNESCO that creates a framework for mobilising people through the medium of film and generating visions and goals for a more sustainable society.

The Climate Pioneers initiative, also supported by myclimate, is also on board once again. While the festival offers already participating school classes a stage for presenting their projects, it also provides an initial motivation for becoming actively involved as Climate Pioneers. "<link www.klimapioniere.ch - external-link-new-window>Climate Pioneers</link>" is a Swisscom initiative run in partnership with myclimate and Solar Impulse, and is supported by the Federal Office for the Environment. To date, more than 7,900 schoolchildren have implemented over 360 climate protection projects.

myclimate gives away 3 x 2 tickets to "Lunchkino" on 20 September in Lucerne. Tickets include admission to the film "Taste the Waste", lunch and a drink. To enter, just email <link info@myclimate.org - mail>info(at)myclimate.org</link>, entering "Lunchkino" as the subject header. Winners will be announced on 1 September.
