time:matters offsets CO2 emissions of all airmates onboard courier transports with myclimate Germany

Since December 2019, time:matters, expert for particularly urgent transports and complex shipment requirements, has been offsetting all emissions caused by accompanied airmates courier transports with myclimate Germany. The climate protection donations flow into the high-quality myclimate project "Efficient cookers save habitat for the last mountain gorillas" in Rwanda.

For particularly urgent shipments, time:matters offers personally accompanied courier transports by plane. The logistics specialist offsets the emissions of these transport trips with myclimate Germany.

In addition to the successful certification according to ISO 14001:2015 last year, the use of electric vehicles and other measures, CO2 compensation is the next milestone in time:matters' sustainability offensive. To offset CO2 emissions, the logistics company is cooperating with the renowned non-profit organization myclimate Germany, which is one of the quality leaders in voluntary offsetting measures worldwide. All of the organization's projects meet the strictest, independent quality standards such as CDM, Gold Standard and Plan Vivo. This also applies to the initiative supported by time:matters in Rwanda, in which locally produced stoves are used. This reduces the need for firewood in the region by up to 70 percent and protects the unique habitat of the endangered mountain gorillas from deforestation. CO2 emissions for flights as well as for vehicle pick-ups and deliveries are taken into account.

"At time:matters we take our responsibility for the environment seriously", explains Alexander Kohnen, CEO time:matters. "The CO2 compensation of airmates' onboard courier service is the next step for us towards a sustainable transport portfolio. This is also reflected in the demand of our customers for climate-friendly logistics solutions."

time:matters plans to expand the implementation of its CO2 compensation activities to other transport solutions in the near future.
