myclimate speaks at SPOBIS and supports climate optimizations

myclimate will be present at the sports business conference "SPOBIS" in Düsseldorf! From Wednesday, May 31 to Thursday, June 1, industry and climate experts from myclimate will advise future-oriented players from the sports industry on their climate commitment. In a presentation, they will show how the climate performance of sporting events can be improved. A mobility survey conducted on site marks the starting point of the cooperation between SPOBIS and myclimate.

On the stage of Europe's largest sports business conference, Harald Rettich, Head of Corporate Partnerships Germany, will demonstrate directly on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. how organizers* can improve the climate performance of sports events and will also be available for questions.

Cooperation for climate protection

In the future, SPOBIS and myclimate will also work together for climate protection. The first step will be a mobility survey conducted by myclimate among the conference visitors. In this way, myclimate would like to contribute to the climate-optimization of the event. Especially the mobility of the visitors is an important lever to reduce climate-damaging emissions at events.

Climate-impacting behaviors

But this is only one criterion of a comprehensive consideration. In the sports and event industry in particular, climate-impacting behaviors cover a broad spectrum. From daily club activities and city festivals to specialist congresses, music festivals or major sporting events. As diverse as events are, there are common denominators in the sources of CO2 emissions: travel to or from the event and catering for participants. In addition to these factors, waste as well as energy, resource and material consumption also contribute to the CO2 footprint of events.
