myclimate's carbon offset projects chosen by UNFCCC

The UNFCCC's Momentum for Change Initiative has chosen two carbon offset projects of myclimate presenting them at the next Climate Conference in Doha November 2012.

Over 100 applicants have submitted and nine activities were finally selected. They were reviewed by an international advisory panel as part of the <link unfccc.int/secretariat/momentum_for_change/items/6214.php>UNFCCC’s Momentum for Change Initiative</link>, which is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The organic waste compost project in Nepal processes organic waste into compost reducing methane emissions. The compost is used by local farmers as a soil structure improver. The energy efficiency project for brick producers in Peru install new kilns to reduce fuel consumption.

The project will be presented to the international public at special events at the <link www.cop18.qa - external-link-new-window>UN Climate Change Conference in Doha</link> in November/December this year.
