Three new carbon offset projects in Latin America

Solar panels planned in the Dominican Republic

myclimate has initiated over 10 projects in 2011, this sums up to over 50 climate protection projects in the portfolio. Three projects have been put to the portfolio in the last weeks:

One project replaces inefficient wood burning stoves with high efficiency rocket stoves or solar cookers in Bolivia, another one installs the largest solar power plant in Latin America as an alternative to the fossil driven electricity fuel mix in the Dominican Republic. The third one installs a biomass plant which will run on biomass residues of about 20 saw mills producing sustainable electricity in Honduras.

All those projects reduce carbon emissions as they replace dirty or wood consuming energy sources.
