Berding Beton donates 30,000 euros to myclimate

This year, Berding Beton is once again foregoing the usual Christmas gifts. Instead, the family-owned company from Oldenburger Münsterland is donating money to several charitable organizations, including myclimate for climate protection.

The donation will benefit the certified myclimate project «Moorland as a climate protector: renaturation of the Königsmoor in Schleswig-Holstein». Through this high-quality climate protection project, part of the unique Königsmoores moor in Schleswig-Holstein is being renatured through waterlogging. This will allow typical raised bog vegetation to form again in the area in the long term and CO₂ to be bound efficiently. In addition, a valuable habitat is being created for many endangered species - right on our doorstep.

«We are very pleased about the generous donation from Berding Beton and thank them for this valuable contribution to climate protection! Peatlands in particular have a huge carbon storage potential. The renaturation measures are therefore an essential building block for binding greenhouse gas emissions», says Stefan Baumeister, Managing Director of myclimate Deutschland gGmbH.

In recent years, Berding Beton has made larger donations exclusively to social institutions in Germany and around the world. This year, for the first time, the donation to myclimate adds a commitment to climate protection. This was an important concern for the manufacturer of concrete products, as the topic of climate protection is omnipresent and global warming also has direct consequences for the world's social imbalance. The company chose the climate protection organization myclimate on the basis of positive evaluations by independent testing organizations. The high transparency of the non-profit climate protection organization and the quality of the support projects were also decisive factors.

Berding Beton GmbH is one of the market leaders for high-quality concrete products in landscaping and civil engineering. The company processes concrete at more than 50 locations in Germany and the Netherlands into high-performance end products that shape, pave or drain surfaces. In addition to seven Tafel Deutschland e. V. institutions, SOS-Kinderdorf e. V., Doctors Without Borders, Unicef's worldwide Corona vaccination campaign and the non-profit climate protection organization myclimate each received a major donation.
